| Welcome to Our Lady of Peace and Hope Now holding Sunday worship services at The Historic Y Our Lady of Peace and Hope Liberal Catholic Mission is currently holding worship services in Tucson every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. at The Historic Y, 738 North 5th Avenue (southeast corner of University and 5th Avenue), in the ground level conference room, just off the main lobby. Plenty of parking is available on Sundays on University, on the east side of 5th Avenue adjacent to the Historic Y building, and on the southeast side of the building. To find the conference room where Sunday services are held, start on the University side of the building (the north side; note that this building is addressed “300” as in 300 E. University). Go through the gate located between the Paolo Freire Freedom School and the Audubon Society Nature Shop, into the courtyard. Follow the signs through the door next to the courtyard restroom, turn left, and you’ll find the conference room a few short steps down the hall. The Liberal Catholic Church International, established in 1916, is in its twelfth year in Arizona at St. Michael and All Angels Liberal Catholic Cathedral in Casa Grande, and now moves into its second year in Tucson at Our Lady of Peace and Hope Liberal Catholic Mission. Liberal Catholic clergy offer Holy Communion and other Catholic sacraments to all, without barriers based on race, color, national origin, ancestry, gender or gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, economic status, age, disability, theological viewpoint, familial status, or issues of individual conscience. The Most Rev. Bennett D. D. Burke, Bishop of the Liberal Catholic Diocese of Arizona, says, “Everyone is welcome at Our Lady of Peace and Hope, and that means everyone. We’re very excited about our second congregation in Arizona, where we’ll offer a traditional sacramental form of worship – with its stately ritual, deep mysticism and witness to the reality of sacramental grace – with the widest measure of intellectual liberty and respect for the individual conscience. We’re also happy about our new home in They Historic Y, a historically and architecturally significant cultural, performing arts, and event center located in the heart of the city.” For more information about Our Lady of Peace and Hope, go to www.azlcc.org, www.liberalcatholic.org, www. myspace.com/olopah, e-mail Bishop Bennett at bpbennettburke@yahoo.com, or call (520) 256-5178. www.azlcc.org (520) 256-5178 |
